  2. In 1969-1970 I was stationed at Moron La de Frontera AFB and traveled to T-town frequently on the weekends. One Saturday in December 1970, I was with some military buddies and one of them had a girl friend from England who brought us over to a table at Harry's Bar to meet a guy. She introduced us to James Michener, who was collecting information for writing a book called The Drifters. I had already read several of his books during my many hours of downtime in the service and was a highlight of my tour in Spain. Wonder what happened to all those guys and gals...

    1. I had a jazz bar there in called Club Josephina and Michener would come by and sit and listen to Miles and Coltrane and me and my friends. My wife Josephina and I owned the bar before Bobby Moore purchased it. I enjoyed hearing about those days.

  5. I was stationed in Germany in the early 70's. I read Micheners " The drifters" and decided I had to go and see if The Fat Black Pussycat existed. It did and we spent a lot of our 2 week stay there. We stayed at a KOA outside of town and met many interesting people. One Saturday as we sipped our beer a big yellow american school bus pulled up and every one got up to get on it. I asked where we were going and was told we were going to Ty Hardins villa to play softball. Had a wonderful time and cherish my time there. Can anyone confirm that Ty Hardin had a place outside Torremolinos with a full size softball field and coolers stocked with ice cold San Miguel.
